Volvo Cars N.A. recently announced a recall of approximately 584 vehicles due to an airbag issue with the wiring harness.

Which Volvo models are affected by the recall?

Model year 2016 XC90 SUVs, manufactured from January 27, 2015 to May 19, 2015.

What causes the airbag issue?

Incorrect assembly. Affected vehicles might have a wiring harness that was routed incorrectly, which may disable the front seat side-impact airbag and increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Are there any known accidents attributed to the defect?

At this time, Volvo is not aware of any accidents or injuries due to the related problems.

What do I do if my Volvo is one of those affected?

Volvo will be notifying all owners affected by the recall in July 2015. Volvo will inspect the wiring, correct the routing and install a protective sleeve, free of charge.
